ततः then, कमलपत्राक्षः lotuseyed, श्यामः of dark complexion, निरुपमः peerless, महान् great, रामः Rama, माम् about me, पितुः to father, आख्याहि inform, इति thus, तं सूतम् to that charioteer, उवाच he said.

Let my father be informed of my arrival, said the lotuseyed, darkcomplexioned, venerable, peerless Rama to the charioteer. Rama, Sita and Lakshmana take leave of Dasaratha--Dasaratha falls unconscious.
