English Translation
राक्षसेन्द्रस्य lord of the demons (Ravana), तत् वाक्यम् the words, श्रुत्वा having heard, महाप्राज्ञः very wise, वाक्यविशारदः eloquent speaker, मारीचः Maricha, राक्षसेश्वरम् to Ravana, प्रत्युवाच replied.
English Commentary
Having heard the words of Ravana, lord of the demons, wise Maricha who was also an eloquent speaker replied: Maricha describes the qualities of Rama and Sita to Ravana --advises Ravana to give up the idea of abduction of Sita.
