सः that Rama, दीनः piteous, दीनया pitiable, वाचा words, लक्ष्मणम् to Lakshmana, वाक्यम् these words, अब्रवीत् said, लक्ष्मण Lakshmana, शीघ्रम् swiftly, गोदावरीं नदीम् Godavari river, गत्वा going, सीता Sita, पद्मानि lotuses, आनयितुम् to get, गोदावरीम् Godavari, अपि गता has gone, जानीहि find out.

Rama in dejection said these pitiable words to Lakshmana,O Lakashmana, go swiftly to the river Godavari and find out if Sita has gone there to get lotuses. Rama and Lakshmana continue their search for Sita -- find signs of ornaments and footprints of Sita,broken pieces of bow, shield and parasol -- Rama ventilates his anger towards all in the three worlds -- concludes that Sita has been hijacked by a demon.
