गगनम् sky, घनोपगूढम् covered by clouds, भास्करः Sun, दर्शनम् appearance, स अभ्युपैति not to be seen, सतारं along with stars, न not, धरणी land, जलौघैः with water flow of, विसृप्ता gliding, तमोविलिप्ताः covered with darkness, दिशः direction, न प्रकाशाः not shining.

'Ennveloped by clouds, the Sun and stars are not visible. The earth glides with the flow of fresh waters. The directions are not clear, covered by darkness.
