English Translation
राक्षसाधिपः lord of demons, परुषम् sharp, सीतायाः of Sita, वचनम् words, श्रुत्वा on hearing, ततः then, प्रियदर्शनम् is pleasing to see, विप्रियम् unpleasant, सीताम् to Sita, प्रत्युवाच replied.
English Commentary
Hearing the sharp words of pleasing Sita, the lord of demons replied in unpleasant terms: Ravana appeals to Sita -- asks the demon guards to change her mind -- gives ultimatum to Sita
