अयम् this, वानरः vanara, न not, वज्री Indra, the wielder of the thunderbolt, त्रिदशेश्वरः the lord of gods, महेन्द्रः वा or Indra, साक्षात् personally, यमः वा Yama, वरुणः Varuna, अनिलो वा or the Wind god, रुद्रः Rudra, अग्निः the Firegod, अर्कः Sun, धनदश्च Or Kubera, सोमः Moon, स्वयम् himself, कालः एव वा or the god of death?

'Is this the wielder of thunderbolt Indra, who is the king of gods? Is it Yama himself? Is It the Windgod, or Firegod, or Varuna or Rudra? Is it Kubera or Sun or Moon or is it the god of death himself? He cannot be a mere monkey, indeed.
