धर्मज्ञ: knower of righteousness, सत्यसन्ध: true to his vows, शीलवान् one with good character, अनसूयक: free from envy, क्षान्त: one with forbearance, सान्त्वयिता one who consoles others, श्लक्ष्ण: gentle, कृतज्ञ: grateful, विजितेन्द्रिय: one who has conquered the senses.

 Rama knows the ways of righteousness. He is true to his word and free from envy. He possesses a sound character with forbearance, gentleness and a sense of gratitude. With his senses under control, he is a source of consolation (in stressful times).
