Annoyed with Kaikeyi and filled with rage and sorrow, Manthara discarded the ornament (gifted to her) and said these words: Manthara incites Kaikeyi --Kaikeyi narrates the virtues of Rama--Manthara insinuates that installation of Rama would harm Bharata--hence Rama should be banished and Bharata coronated.
