English Translation
पूर्वै: by my predecessors, आचरितम् trodden, पन्थानम् path, अनुगच्छता while following, नित्यम् always, अनिद्रेण vigilant, मयापि by me also, प्रजा: people, यथाशक्ति to the best of my ability, अभिरक्षिता: were protected.
English Commentary
Following the path of my forefathers I protected the people to the best of my ability by being ever vigilant.
